Jeep has announced Australian prices for its all-new seven-seat Grand Cherokee L.
Jeep’s first-ever seven-seat Grand Cherokee (the Grand Cherokee L) will be available to Australian buyers mid-2022 at a price almost matching the Nissan Patrol. It will be greeted later in the year by a five-seat Grand Cherokee with another first: a plug-in hybrid engine.
For now, the new three-tier Grand Cherokee L range will be fitted with a petrol V6 engine. There is no word yet on the V8 engine model available in the US, and the diesel has been cancelled, leaving, for now, the Pentastar V6.
The model range starts at $82,250 before on-road costs for the entry-level and up to $115,450 for the flagship model. Full spec and details are listed below.

Engine and drivetrain
All of the Grand Cherokee L models listed for sale now feature the same 3.6-litre naturally-aspirated V6 petrol engine that produces 210kW of power and 344Nm of torque exclusively through an eight-speed automatic transmission. An all-new 4xe plug-in-hybrid will be arriving in late 2022 for the two-row Grand Cherokee five-seater, with a 2.0-litre engine assisted with two electric motors for 280kW of power at all four wheels.
Drive is sent to all four wheels with Jeep’s own Quadra-Trac 4×4 system that differs from the top-spec Summit with its two-speed transfer case and terrain management system. The total braked towing capacity is 2813kg.
Warranty and servicing
All Jeep models are covered by a five-year, 100,000km warranty. Jeep also offers lifetime roadside assist on the proviso that the vehicle is always serviced at a Jeep dealership, and capped price servicing options are available (prices TBA).
