Peugeot confirms new hybrid model to join line-up from next year.

Peugeot Australia has confirmed the introduction of the electrified 3008 PHEV, available early next year and in just on specification.

Priced from just shy of $80,000 before on-road costs, the new variant is a significant leap in price though plug-in hybrid technology does bring increased costs for requisite EV technology such as the larger lithium-ion battery. The facelifted model will be sold alongside convention (non-hybrid) models from Q1 2022.

2022 Peugeot 3008 GT Sport PHEV

The new 3008 GT Sport plug-in hybrid brings all-wheel drive via a traditional 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine (147kW) and two electric motors (81kW front, 83kW rear), producing a total combined output of 222kW. The drivetrain uses an eight-speed automatic transmission for changing gears and the electric motors are fed by a 13.2kWh lithium-ion battery, providing up to a claimed 60km electric driving range on the WLTP testing cycle.

Standard equipment on the 3008 GT Sport PHEV includes Peugeot’s i-Cockpit with 12.3-inch digital instrument screen, 10-inch touchscreen for infotainment, Focal sound system, 19-inch black alloy wheels, black pack with darkened grille, badges, strips, bumpers and trims, and Nappa leather upholstery with grey stitching.
