Toyota Corolla and C-HR gain a new infotainment system, some extra paint options and fresh trim.

Toyota has released a range of updates for the 2022 model year versions of the Corolla hatchback and the C-HR crossover.

For 2022, the Corolla and the C-HR will both be available with a new eight-inch infotainment system, which the company says is 2.4 times faster than its current system.

The new infotainment system adds a host of connected services, such as live traffic updates, live parking information and fixed speed camera locations. Natural voice control also features, and over-the-air software updates have been added as part of the upgrade. It is yet to be confirmed locally what will or will not be offered.

Other tweaks shown for the Corolla include a set of new 17-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels and an updated colour palette, which now features Platinum White Pearl and Silver Metallic choices.

For some overseas markets, Toyota has also chosen to extend its partnership with the American bicycle manufacturer Trek, meaning the rough-and-tough Corolla Touring Sport Trek Special Edition will be on sale for another year.

The 2022 C-HR gets some fresh 18-inch alloy wheels and new Deep Amethyst paint colour, which can be specified in a two-tone finish on the GR Sport specification. The seats have also been retrimmed in a new blend of gunmetal-coloured fabric and leather upholstery.
