Ford sets the date for new Everest reveal, and also hides its new Platinum variant in the dark.

Ford has confirmed it will reveal the next-generation Everest on March 1 at 6:00pm AEST, and we can also reveal it has shown an all-new Platinum model in its teaser.

So far, only a shadowy teaser image and video has been provided, however, a crude bit of photoshop work quickly revealed to us that the model in the teaser is the Platinum, as per badging over the nose.

The Ford Everest – known as the Ford Endeavour in other markets – will be offering new variants in this generation, with the Platinum likely sitting atop the range as the plushest. We can see here it has chrome highlights and large alloys, and inside should be a good amount of leather upholstery, quality fittings, and large panoramic sunroof. Sitting alongside it are expected ‘off-road’ variants, with even a Raptor model a possibility, while the normal entry-level variants will kick off value pricing.

As one would expect, styling will be similar to the Ranger, but with a wagon body and five and seven-seat options inside likely – Ford will confirm further details in the official unveiling.

Looking at the new Ranger, one can expect a variety of drivetrains. That would be rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive models with both four and six-cylinder diesel turbo engines plus the new hybrid drivetrain, all mated to Ford’s 10-speed automatic and terrain driving mode controller. There is also the potential for an Everest Raptor (like the new Ford Ranger Raptor) in this generation.

Inside we expect all of the Ranger’s trinkets, like the large new 12.0-inch portrait touchscreen and a digital display cluster among basic fabric and nicer leather-trimmed seats.

Tune in on March 1 at 6:00pm for the full reveal.
