As expected, the $10,000 EOFY price cut applied to the Renault Megane E-Tech has now been made permanent, giving it a new ongoing price of $54,990 before on-road costs.

The Megane E-Tech launched into Australia in February 2024 with a starting price of $64,990 – initially confirmed in August, 2023.

This adjustment makes the Megane E-Tech more competitive with the likes of Volvo’s new EX30 ($59,990), along with Hyundai’s $54,000 Kona EV (review).

Renault Koleos gets permanent 7-year warranty

The 7-year unlimited kilometre warranty previously available as a special promotion on the ageing Renault Koleos has been made permanent.

The Koleos is currently priced from $37,500 in front-wheel-drive form, and $45,000 for a step up to all-wheel drive. (Prices exclude on-road costs.)

Based on the previous-generation Nissan X-Trail, the current second-generation Renault Koleos has been on the market since 2016. However, despite its age, a solid value offering sees the Koleos maintain a relative level of appeal, with 402 sales year-to-date (end of June figures).

Key specifications for the Renault Koleos include:

  • Active Emergency Braking System (AEBS)
  • Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
  • Blind Spot Warning (BSW) and parking sensors
  • 3D Sound by Arkamys with eight speakers
  • Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration
  • Dual zone climate control air conditioning

The Koleos also gets 5 years of roadside assistance, and 5-year capped price servicing, providing comprehensive coverage and peace of mind for owners.

Renault revealed a new-generation ‘Grand Koleos’ in June, built in and destined for the South Korean market.

Interestingly, and despite Renault’s close corporate and product alliance with Nissan and Mitsubishi, the new model is built on the CMA platform of Chinese giant Geely – which holds a one-third stake in Renault Korea. This same architecture underpins the ageing Volvo XC40 and the Polestar 2.

Living up to its name, the 4780mm-long Grand Koleos rides on a wheelbase 115mm longer than the current Koleos, and is overall 108mm longer in the body.

So far, there’s been no word on whether this new model will come to Australia.
