The award-winning family car will get a new look and updated technology.
The Skoda Octavia has held a special place in the hearts of auto enthusiasts, and now, the beloved model is poised to become even better with an upcoming mid-life facelift, enhancing its appeal and performance.
While Skoda has been busy introducing the all-new Superb and Kodiaq, as well as expanding its all-electric range with the Elroq, the spotlight is now on the popular Octavia. The mid-life refresh is set to be unveiled in February, bringing forth a fresh look to both the hatchback and the Estate models.
Expectations include tweaks to the front and rear bumpers, along with a slightly different rear-light signature for both the hatchback and Estate versions. Enthusiasts can also look forward to a revamped Octavia RS model, featuring the current car’s larger alloy wheels, a bespoke body kit, and distinctive red accents. The facelifted Octavia RS launch might coincide with the introduction of the Skoda Superb RS later this year.
In line with the broader VW Group, which recently showcased the facelifted Volkswagen Golf Mk8, we anticipate that the Octavia will share much of the same interior technology. However, Skoda is likely to maintain a traditional approach to cabin design, preserving physical switches for climate controls and other functions, a strategy Volkswagen has recently embraced with the latest Golf.
The Octavia’s 10-inch central touchscreen may be upgraded to a 10.4-inch or even a 12.9-inch unit in higher-spec versions, borrowing from the facelifted Golf setup. While maintaining Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, the infotainment display is expected to receive subtle tweaks such as new graphics or menus.
