All-new fourth-gen Skoda Octavia comes storming into showrooms this April.

Skoda Australia has confirmed the new fourth-generation Octavia will launch in Australia this April from $30,390.

The sleek new-look model comes with new tech, upgrades underneath the skin, and a change from the dual-clutch auto to a traditional torque-converter.

As before, the new-look Octavia, available in both sedan and wagon as before will also come in the same three trims: Ambition, Style, and RS.

Both Ambition and Style come with  1.4-litre turbo four-cylidner engine producing 110 and 250Nm.

The Ambition comes with 18-inch alloys, rear spoiler, silver roof rails, LED tail and headlights, flat-bottom steering wheel, fabric seats, rear centre armrest, ambient lighting and tinted windows. Inside is the 12.3-inch virtual cockpit screen for driver, 10-inch Bolero touchscreen, two Type-C USB points, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and eight-speaker audio. Conveneince includes electrically opening and closing tailgate, centre locking and keyless start, electronic parking brake, umbrella in driver’s door, luggage compartment floor cover, foldable luggage hooks, two tablet holders and rain sensing wipers.

The style builds on this with unique 18-inch alloys, electric side mirrors and full Matrix LED headlights with side lighting, and the infotianment si a 10-inch Columbus with sat-nav built in. Conveneice is supplemented b keyless locking and keyless start, alarm and parking assist.

The RS sport model is powered by a 2.0-litre four cylinder turbo petrol engine producing 180kW/370Nm, mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch auto. It adds special elements such as 19-inch Altair brushed Anthracite alloys, red disk brake calipers, RS Leather and Fabric upholstery, sports seats and badging, and black door mirrors, window frames and B-pillars, headliner, grille, lettering on the tailgate and roof rails. It also receives a special RS motif on the infotainment, front and rear parking sensors and auto hold assist.

Safety on all models includes adaptive cruise control, front assist with warning and braking reaction to vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists, eight airbags (including front seats centre). Style variants add front fog lights with cornering function and the RS has 10 airbags, passenger protect assist, emergency assist and side assist (land change assist).
