Chevrolet unleashes its Corvette Z06 supercar in Australia.

The powerhouse coupe is priced at $336,000 before on-road costs in Australia, and $346,000 in New Zealand.

The centerpiece of the Corvette Z06 is its naturally aspirated LT6 5.5-litre DOHC V8 engine featuring an all-new flat-plane crankshaft design, enabling the engine to rev up to a screaming 8600 rpm. The result is 475kW of power and 595Nm of torque.

The Z06 features a shorter 5.56 final drive ratio, combined with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. This configuration is optimised to deliver faster gear shifts.

For performance on the track, the Z07 Performance Package is available. With this, the Z06 achieves up to 1.22g of grip in corners. The Z07 Performance Package includes larger brakes with carbon ceramic rotors, carbon fiber aerodynamic elements like air strikes, a larger front splitter, front dive planes, and a carbon fiber high wing spoiler.

To match the Z06’s power, it comes with 370mm front and 380mm rear Brembo rotors with six-piston front calipers, two more than that found on the Stingray. The Z06 suspension is further complemented by Magnetic Ride Control 4.0 (FE6) dampers.

Unique items include 20-inch forged aluminum ‘Spider’ wheels at the front and 21-inch wheels at the rear with wide rubber for optimal traction of the line.

Inside the Z06, drivers get the 3LZ trim as standard. This premium package boasts premium upgrades such as a carbon fiber steering wheel, carbon fiber shift paddles, sueded microfiber on the upper interior trim, leather-wrapped interior door panels and instrument panel, GT2 bucket seats with Napa leather upholstery, and carbon fiber garnishes.

While the car gives the US a fierce competitor in the supercar segment, the Z06 will remain a very limited edition car in Australia.
