Spy pics show Renault is working on a mid-life refresh for its Captur.
Renault is looking to improve its Captur crossover with an incoming facelift.
These latest spy shots show the new car in development and thanks to the newly unveiled facelifted Renault Clio, we already have a good idea what to expect from the updated Captur, both inside and out.
The second-generation Captur launched just after the latest Renault Clio so the facelifted model is likely to be revealed around the end of this year. Judging by this test car, the front end could follow a similar design path as the Clio, with larger LED headlight clusters plus a more angular and aggressive bumper. Renault’s new badge will sit on a revised grille, too.
At the rear there’s more camouflage, which should be hiding a fresh set of rear light clusters and a new bumper. Just like the Clio we expect to see a new range-topping Alpine trim level with bespoke wheels.
We expect to see some crossover of technology from the updated Clio to the Captur as well. The outgoing Captur offers a choice between a seven or nine-inch touchscreen and with this facelift we expect that to continue, although a larger 10-inch driver’s display might be added. The infotainment system itself will be redesigned as well.
We don’t expect huge changes when it comes to the powertrain options, although the Clio appears to have gained some extra fuel efficiency – we expect similar results with the Captur.
