Hyundai’s biggest model gets upgrades and more options for buyers.

Hyundai Australia has updated the large Palisade SUV for 2022, adding a new mid-spec variant.

A solid performer for sales in Hyundai’s line-up, CEO Jun Heo says the new offering should bolster sales further: “Palisade has been revised to provide an even more enticing large SUV flagship for 2022, with a more accessible range-entry model, value-packed new Elite, and enhanced Highlander. Palisade continues to deliver an enticing blend of smart technologies and luxury features, in a seven- or eight-seater SUV package that is ideal for Australian families.”

The new Elite trim sits between the base Palisade and top-spec Highlander and like those models comes with the choice of either front-wheel-drive V6 petrol or all-wheel-drive diesel turbo drivetrains. The result is a $6000 lower price for the 2022 Palisade entry-level model which now costs $55,000 (V6, before on-road costs) or $59,000 (diesel). The Elite starts at $61,500 or $65,500 depending on the drivetrain, and that’s only $500 and $1500 more than the previous entry-level Palisade. The flagship costs $71,000 and $75,000, which is the same.

Available in seven or eight-=seat configurations, the Elite comes with equipment such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen entertainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (up over the entry-level 8.0-inch), wireless phone charging, 12-speaker Infiniti sound system, full sunroof, leather upholstery, and electrically adjustable and heated front seats.

Despite staying the same price, the Highlander has also seen an upgrade with new 20-inch alloy wheels, black Nappa leather option, heated and cooled second-row seats, head-up display and two sunroofs.

The 2022 Palisade line-up is on sale now with deliveries to commence from September.
