After 16 years in production, Abarth’s Fiat 500-based hot hatch is still thriving. The latest iteration, the 695 75 Anniversario, pays homage to the company’s 75th anniversary and features Fiat’s 1.4-litre four-cylinder T-Jet engine.

Bar the latest EV version, the T-Jet has powered every Fiat 500-based Abarth since production commenced in 2008. A total of 1368 units of the 75 Anniversario will be produced, correlating with the engine’s capacity.

The 75 Anniversario receives a cosmetic makeover, showcasing a distinctive livery with gold badging, 17-inch wheels, and Abarth stickers against a black paint finish. Additionally, it sports an oversized gold scorpion logo on its roof. The interior follows the same color scheme, featuring black Alcantara trim on the dashboard and steering wheel, with contrasting gold detailing on the seats. The carbon-backed Sabelt seats, available with the base car, include unique 75 Anniversario logos embroidered on the backrests.

Mechanically, no changes have been made. The 695’s T-Jet, enhanced by a Garrett turbocharger, produces 178kW and 249Nm of torque, propelling the compact hatch from 0-100km/h in 6.7 seconds, with a top speed of 225km/h.

The special edition comes equipped with Abarth’s Record Monza exhaust system featuring stacked tailpipes and an active valve system, along with standard Koni frequency-selective dampers. Brembo provides the braking system, with 305 mm front discs and black-colored aluminum calipers. The 695’s usual suite of equipment, including a 7-inch infotainment display, DAB radio, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto, is also included.

The pricing for the 75 Anniversario has not been disclosed, but an increase over the top-spec 695 Competizione’s list price can be expected. Abarth has not confirmed whether it will offer a manual gearbox, as the flagship 695 is exclusively available with a five-speed robotized automatic.
