aria-label="Alpine ev"Alpine is going fully electric, bosses at the reborn French performance brand have confirmed. As part of the switch the company has also promised three new models are in the pipeline: a hot hatch, a crossover and a replacement for the A110, which will also be developed with Lotus.

Under Groupe Renault’s new five-year plan, bosses have pooled together Alpine cars, Renault Sport Cars and Renault Sport Racing under the Alpine brand. Renault says this will help develop “high-performance, authentic and exclusive sports cars.”

Alpine aims to have all three new models on the road by 2025, at which point bosses are hoping that the brand will be profitable.

The first of the three new models likely to arrive is a new B-segment hot hatch based on Groupe Renault’s CMF-B EV platform. No technical information has been issued but Alpine is promising that future models will take advantage of the latest innovations and expertise from the rebranded Formula One team. Following the hot hatch will be an electric C-segment crossover based on the larger CMF EV platform.

In 2024 Alpine will then launch a replacement for today’s A110 that will be developed in conjunction with British sports car specialist Lotus. Both companies are conducting a “comprehensive feasibility study” with regards to the joint engineering, design and development of the car.

“The new Alpine entity takes three brands with separate assets and areas of excellence to turn them into an empowered, fully-fledged business,” explained Laurent Rossi, CEO Alpine. “The craftsmanship from our plant in Dieppe, the engineering mastery from our Formula One and Renault Sport teams will shine through our tech-infused, 100% electric line-up, taking the beautiful Alpine name to the future.”
