Bentley’s famed W12 engine gets a special send-off in the Speed Edition 12.

Luxury carmaker Bentley is celebrating the final year of production of its legendary W12 engine by launching special edition models of its Bentayga, Flying Spur and Continental GT and GTC. The new models, dubbed the “Speed Edition 12,” will feature the twin-turbocharged powerplant that produces a whopping 485kW and 900Nm.

Only 120 examples of each model will be built, with each one based on the popular ‘blackline’ specification. The exterior of the car will feature blacked-out alloy wheels measuring 22-inches, along with ‘Edition 12’ exterior badging.

The most significant changes can be found inside each car, with the W12 firing order printed on the dashboard and bespoke upholstery, including ‘Edition 12’ embroidery on the seats. The new models will offer an exclusive experience for those lucky enough to own one.

Production of the W12 will end in April 2024, with the last – and most powerful – examples of the engine bound for the ultra-limited Bentley Batur. The W12 engine has been a staple of Bentley’s lineup since it was introduced in 2003, and has powered some of the most iconic models in the brand’s history.

Adrian Hallmark, Bentley CEO, said: “The W12 has been an incredible engine for us, and it has powered some of our most iconic cars. As we prepare to bid farewell to this legendary powerplant, we wanted to create something truly special to commemorate its final year of production. The Speed Edition 12 models are the perfect way to do just that.”

The new Speed Edition 12 models are now available to order, with deliveries expected to begin in the coming months. Bentley fans and car enthusiasts alike are sure to be excited about the chance to own one of these limited-edition models, which are sure to be highly sought after.
