New 2023 Fiat 600e electric SUV unveiled as 500’s big brother.

Fiat has expanded its all-electric line-up with the new 600e – a compact crossover with retro design that will be positioned above the 500 in the line-up.

The Fiat 600e is set to arrive in Europe this year but no plans have been confirmed for Australia yet.

Pricing and full specification have yet to be revealed, but the 600e range should rival the newly launched Hyundai Kona, Kia Niro EV, and fellow Stellantis model, the Jeep Avenger EV.

The 600e sits on the e-CMP platform, as already used by lots of all-electric Stellantis products, so its technical make-up should be pretty familiar. It uses a 54kWh battery for a claimed range of around 400 km. There will be just one electric motor option – a 115 kW unit powering the front wheels for a 0-100 km/h time of nine seconds.

Maximum charging speeds should stand at 100kW, according to Fiat – enough for an 80 percent charge in around half an hour. An 11 kW onboard charger and a cable for charging at home are also included.

The 600e’s dashboard looks similar to the Avenger’s, with a more rounded top but the same seven-inch digital dash and 10.25-inch infotainment system.

On the outside, the styling features plenty of 500 cues, including the split-headlight motif, similar tail-lights, black wheel arches, and alloy wheels up to 18 inches in size. Fiat says the 600e won’t be available in grey, following the Italian firm’s announcement it won’t make any more grey cars.
