During the Geneva Motor Show, Micro introduced a ‘Lite’ variant of the Microlino.

Manufactured in Turin, Italy, the Microlino draws design inspiration from the classic ‘bubble car,’ specifically the ISO Rivolta Isetta. Notably, Micro didn’t need approval from BMW, as the German company doesn’t hold the design rights to the Isetta.

The Microlino Lite, showcased alongside the standard model in Geneva, shares the same body shell and design. Both cars offer a 5.5kWh battery, extendable to 11kWh. The Lite variant, designed to comply with Europe’s L6e light quadricycle regulations (similar to the Citroen Ami), is limited to 9kW and has a top speed of 45km/h, making it accessible to individuals over 14 years old in Europe.

Despite its small battery, the Microlino Lite achieves 100km of range with the standard battery and 200km with the larger unit. Charging speed is a maximum of 11kWh, taking four hours to reach 80% for the larger battery and half that time for the smaller one.

Compared to the Citroen Ami and its Italian counterpart, the Fiat Topolino, the Microlino offers 167 liters more boot space (230 liters). The seating arrangement inside consists of a simple bench, distinguishing it from the individual seats in the Citroen.

Micro’s co-founder, Merlin Ouboter, confirmed plans to bring the Microlino and Microlino Lite to European markets in 2025.
