The long-awaited all-electric reboot of the iconic Renault 5 shown.

The highly anticipated Renault 5’s design remains true to the original concept car from 2021, as seen in leaked images ahead of its world debut at the 2024 Geneva Motor Show. Official shots confirm minimal changes from the concept to production, maintaining the Renault badge on the front end with stylized LED headlights. A large air intake in the front bumper has been added for battery and motor cooling, and the charging port will be located near the front wheel arches.

The production R5 features conventional front door handles, contrasting with the pop-out handles on the concept, but retains concealed handles in the C-pillar. The rear boasts upright tail-lights and a plastic bumper, with a black horizontal bar connecting the rear lights instead of a light bar.

Unique elements include an external charge indicator on the bonnet, referencing the original R5’s vent, displaying the state of charge when plugged in. The leaked images reveal a version of the concept’s yellow paint as a launch color, along with other bright shades like blue and green.

The interior showcases a retro-themed cabin with a large Google-powered infotainment screen, air vents referencing the original Renault 5 design, fabric matching the exterior color on seats and door inserts, and a multifunction steering wheel with a starter button.

Known details about the Renault 5 include a 52kWh battery pack, a front-mounted e-motor providing up to 248 miles on a charge, and the use of the AmpR Small platform with multi-link rear suspension. The car measures approximately 3.92 meters long, similar to the new MINI Cooper.
