2024 will be the Chinese Year of the Dragon, and TAG Heuer pays tribute with two limited-edition Carrera Chronograph timepieces.

In anticipation of the Lunar New Year that heralds the Year of the Dragon, TAG Heuer has released two limited-edition Carrera Chronograph Year of the Dragon watches. Both Year of the Dragon Carrera Chronographs feature a 42mm diameter case, which is either fashioned in fine-brushed and polished stainless steel, or fine-brushed and polished 18K 5N rose gold.

The steel edition (reference CBN201H.FC6553) features a polished steel bezel and silver sunray-brushed dial with a printed Chinese Dragon symbol at the top of the hour chronograph counter at 6 o’clock. The minute chronograph counter at 3 o’clock and the permanent second indicator at 9 o’clock are distinguished by their red azurage that refences the iconic ‘reverse panda’ layout.  Further red detailing includes the Rhodium-plated facetted, polished applied indexes with red lacquer and white Super-LumiNova and the red lacquered central triangle hand.

The dial is topped by a domed sapphire crystal with double anti-reflective treatment to aid ease of reading in strong-light conditions. The screw-down case back also features a sapphire crystal to showcase the renowned Calibre Heuer 02 automatic movement. The case back also features a printed Chinese Dragon pattern and engraving denoting the Year of the Dragon’s “limited edition” and “one of 300” status.

Fittingly, the Carrera Chronograph Year of the Dragon is presented on a red alligator leather strap with steel folding clasp with double safety pushers and TAG Heuer shield.

The rose gold edition of the Carrera Chronograph Year of the Dragon (reference CBN2048.FC8323) mirrors the details of the steel edition, but its 42mm case, crown and push buttons at 2 and 4 o’clock are fashioned from 18K 5N rose gold. Limited to just 50 examples, the rose gold edition is also presented on a red alligator leather strap, but the strap is secured by an 18K 5N rose gold pin buckle with TAG Heuer shield. Like the steel edition, the ultra-exclusive rose gold edition is powered by TAG Heuer’s in-house Calibre Heuer 02 movement that boasts a power reserve of up to 80 hours.

Fittingly, both the steel and rose gold editions of the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Year of the Dragon are delivered in a striking red presentation box.
