MG to make appearance at Goodwood

MG will roll out its new electric MG 5 wagon at Goodwood, but the model is not coming to Australia.

The facelifted version of the MG 5 electric wagon will make be on show at the Goodwood Festival of Speed event, starting on 23 June. The updated car features refreshed styling and improved on-board technology, but will not be heading to Australia, Instead, the new MG 5 sedan will make it to local shores around 2023.

For the 2022 MG 5 wagon, there are no range or charging speed upgrades beyond the improvements that were introduced for the existing car in late 2021. This saw the addition of a Long Range version to the line-up, with a 61.1kWh battery for a 400km range on a charge.

Exterior design changes for the 2022 model encompass new front and rear bumpers, redesigned LED headlights and tail-lights, plus new wheel designs.

Like the latest MG ZS electric SUV, the 5 SW will also come with Vehicle-To-Load (V2L) capability, which lets you power or charge devices like e-bikes, portable heaters or camping equipment using the car’s battery.

There are interior design and technology upgrades, too, including a 10.25-inch infotainment screen with upgraded software and support for ‘iSMART’ connected car functionality through MG’s smartphone app.
